from Our Kind of Love
The second I relaxed on the couch and spread my legs out on top of the coffee table, I heard a knock at the door. I checked my phone for the time before getting up to answer it. It was almost one a.m.
“Who’s there?” I asked in a grouchy tone, reaching the door.
“It’s…me,” the soft voice answered. My heartbeat picked up.
I opened the door fast, and indeed, it really was Reign. “Hey.”
She didn’t utter anything in return, not even an explanation for why she was standing outside my door. It didn’t matter though. I was thrilled that she was here.
Reign parted her lips to speak but seemed to be having trouble finding the words. When she looked into my eyes, I saw how much hers burned with the kind of fire that only meant one thing: she came here to be with me.
“Come in,” I said before she changed her mind and took off running.
Slowly, she entered my apartment, picking at the loops of her jeans. I watched her keenly as she sashayed over to the armchair and rested a hand on the back of it, the whole time envisioning running my hand against the smoothness of her legs. Damn they were sexy. She was sexy.
The air was quiet and tense so I wanted to get her talking. “You want something to drink?” I offered. “Water? Soda…” My throat tightened when she spun around to face me, scanning me from the waist down, then up to my eyes again.
Edging closer, Reign lifted her hands and gently touched my arms, then glided her fingers across my chest and moved them up to my neck. She lingered there, hesitant of what she wanted to do next. So I did it instead.
With hunger taking over, I draped my arms around her body and hauled her into my chest, kissing her hard. Reign didn’t push me off or say stop, she pressed deeper into me and opened her mouth so I could taste the sweetness of apple juice on her tongue.
I squeezed her body, wanting more. Desire chewed at my insides and I felt as if I was going to explode. I picked her up into my arms and carried her hastily to my room, kissing her neck as I placed her down on the bed. She trembled as I climbed on top of her.
“Tell me to stop,” I breathed, stroking her beautiful face. “Tell me you don’t want me and I’ll back off.”
Reign caught her breath then uttered, “But I do…I do want you.”
