Impossibly Love:

All Moya Douglas wants to do is study hard, maintain her scholarship, and make her mother proud while attending college. She doesn’t have time for a boyfriend or going on dates arranged by her best friend. Moya doesn’t believe in love. And she has no intention of ever finding it.

Branden McCarthy is determined to change her views.
A selfless romantic who’s had his heart broken in the past, Branden is fascinated with Moya’s personality and hopes to develop something real with her—a connection so strong it’ll open her heart. But just when things start to work between the two, Branden’s secret threatens to get in the way.

Will Moya finally do the impossible and give love a chance with Branden, or will fear keep them apart?

Impossibly True:

Moya is finally listening to her heart.
She’s ready for love and willing to bask in all the joy it brings, but still, she insists on taking things slow. After all, her relationship with Branden isn’t the only one that needs a chance.

With his health scare behind him, Branden wants nothing more than to get his life back on track—play hockey again, catch up on school, and get things moving with his girlfriend.

In the middle of strengthening their relationship and sorting out their individual lives, trouble begins to brew, testing the depth of their feelings for each other.

Can Branden and Moya once again overcome their trials and prove that their love is indeed true, or will past ghosts and new temptations drive them apart forever?

Pulling up outside the white, Cape Cod-style rental, I shut off the car and flung the door open. I ran up the steps to the front door and knocked.

“Amber!” I tried the knob. It wasn’t locked. I opened the door and hurried inside, calling out again, “Amber!”

My voice echoed throughout the quiet house. Clenching my phone in my fist, I turned left and ambled through the doorway leading into the living room. The screen door to the back porch was open. I continued across the hardwood floor, the wood squeaking with each step.

“Amber?” I muttered, stepping out on the porch. I glanced around the yard. She wasn’t anywhere.

Just as I turned to go back inside to search upstairs, someone hurried up to me and covered my mouth with a damped cloth. My cellphone fell while I was clawing at his hands. He was so strong; he wouldn’t let up.

I started to feel weak. My struggles grew less and less as I lost all strength in my body. Eventually, my hands dropped to my sides and my legs fell numb.

My vision faded in and out. He moved his hands from my mouth and lifted me up into his arms, holding me close to his chest. There was that strong, leathery cologne again, and I could see his blurred face hovering above me.

He whispered, “My love, we’ve finally been reunited.”

“No…” I whimpered and tried to fight, but my body wouldn’t obey. I was as limp as a ragdoll, now he was free to play with me.

He started to carry me away. I fought to stay conscious, it was useless.

“Am… Amber…” I groaned. “Where…”

“Shh,” he hushed me.

I drifted off for a moment, but pushed even harder to stay conscious as I felt him place me on a hard surface. Panicked, I commanded my eyes to open, for my body to do something. I just couldn’t move.

He’d drugged me again.

I heard a car door shut, and my body rattled as he started to drive away. Oh no! Vincent was taking me.

The book is coming along. So I wanted to share a little with you while I wrap up the story.

Unedited Excerpt –

My eyes blurred; my vision faded in and out. My head hammered even more. I stiffened at the click of the door as someone opened it and entered the condo.

“Dad?” I groaned. “Something’s… not… right…” My words were stretched. I sounded like someone on drugs.

No one answered anyway. I started to panic, breathing heavy with fear.

I strained to make out the dark figure coming towards me but it was too hard with the fuzziness in my eyes.

“Who’s… there?” I whimpered. “Please…”

Putting my weight on the arm of the couch again, I tried to stand up. I lost my balance and was about to fall when the dark figure caught me at the waist.

The strong, leathery scent of his masculine cologne burned my nose when he picked me up against his chest and carried me away. I was unable to fight. The last thing I saw was the half empty water bottle before my eyes closed against my will. And the last thing I felt were rugged hands slithering up and down my thighs and soft thin lips brushing against mine before I was taken over by a deep sleep.

Happy New Year!

2014 was quite a year for me as I’m sure it was quite the year for others. If I had to sum up the year in one word, it would be “bittersweet” because two major things happened: I married my best friend and soul mate, and I lost someone I loved dearly. That lost has impacted me so much that I’m having a hard time writing and sadly, whenever I catch myself smiling, guilt creeps up on me because I’m instantly reminded that she is no longer here and I won’t see her when I go home. But this wasn’t meant to be a sad post and I’m not throwing a pity party. In fact, I’m hopeful. My faith will carry me through and I know that very soon, I will be alright.

I also want to thank you, my supporters, and I want to wish each and everyone of you a prosperous new year. I hope you achieve your resolutions and always remember to appreciate what you have.

Happy New Year!
